Art. It’s more than beauty and conceptual ideas. It’s more than visual works and performances. It’s something that can connect us all. Think about a designer, who is by nature, an artist. He or she has the opportunity to work across disciplines, blending the best aspects of art, engineering, research, and science. Making them all work together in harmony. This is the idea behind STEAM programs in our local schools. And it’s why we’re writing this post right now.
We He(art) Art and we know you do too. It’s why we’ve worked so hard to expand our Artists-in-Schools initiative into all 10 Chatham traditional elementary schools this year. It’s why we’re connecting artists and audiences through our Meet This Artist and Go See This announcements. It’s why we’re collaborating with town, county, and local business leaders to make the arts more visible and more accessible in Chatham County. Right? Right!
But we can’t do it alone. Please join us this year through our I He(art) Art Campaign and help us continue to elevate art in Chatham County. The arts need you, and we all need the arts. Donate now. Every single gift helps, so whether you have $1 or $1,000 to share, we are grateful that you are showing your commitment to the arts. And so is Chatham County.
PS: Our Artists-in-Schools initiative is pretty amazing. If you’re “hearting” art right now and you’d like to go one step further and support an artist residency at one of the 10 Chatham traditional elementary schools this year (Bennett, Bonlee, Moncure, North Chatham, Perry Harrison, Pittsboro, Siler City, Silk Hope, Virginia Cross, or JS Waters), let us know. It’s the feel-good gift of the year! Click here to email us and we’ll set it up.
